Program ICLT, Item Lead Time Group Maintenance, is used to set up item lead time groups for use in calculating the lead times for items. Lead time groups are assigned to items in program ICPM, Inventory Planning Data Maintenance, for both the enterprise and plant planning records.

Lead time groups allow users to set up a single lead time record for a group of items that have the same lead time. The lead time groups are then assigned to the items and by changing the lead time for the group, it reduces the maintenance for the item planning records. When a lead time group is assigned to an item planning record, the lead time group's lead time settings will override the lead time assigned to the item planning record.

If the lead times for your items changes based on the day of the year, you can enter the day on which the lead time takes effect in the DOY field. For example, if it takes 3 days to acquire the items in the lead time group all year long, but in December it takes 5 days, you can enter 2 records for the lead time group. One for the DOY of 1 (January 1st) and the lead time 3, and the other for the DOY 335 (December 1st) and the lead time 5.

 

Entering Lead Time Groups

1. In the Lead Time Group field, enter the name of the lead time group.

2. In the DOY field, enter the day of the year on which the lead time takes effect for the lead time group. If the lead time is the same all year long, enter a 1 in this field.

3. In the Lead Time field, enter the number of days to acquire the items to which this lead time group is assigned in the item planning programs.

4. Press Commit.
