Xephr® Components

The Xephr® tool set has three code components: Xephr application server, Xephr Studio and Xephr Administration. The application server is responsible for delivering Xephr applications built by the studio according to the constraints established by the administrator.

Xephr Administrator

Xephr Administrator Console is a secure browser delivered tool providing for:

• Host definition

• Metadata repository management

• License management

• Log process and file management

• Server status and session management

• Database connection management

• Pluggable component management

Xephr Studio

Xephr Studio is an integrated development environment (IDE) which provides for the creation and maintenance of Xephr entities (reports, transaction processors, etc.) and all of their components:

• Menus

• Groups

• Entities ( Converters, Data Exchanges, Reports, Screens, Spreadsheets, and XML Documents)

• Entity Templates

• Format Masks

• List of Values Definitions

• Styles

• Link Styles

• Paper Sizes

• Datasources (database / interconnect / web service)

• Security

• Uploaded Files

• Published Entities

• Schedules

Xephr Application Server

Xephr application server is implemented as a servlet stack inside a J2EE container. Each layer of the stack is constructed as a service layer with a pluggable adapter architecture:

• Trigger service layer (pluggable request listeners)

• Authentication filter layer (pluggable authenticators)

• Query processing layer (pluggable database / query resolution adaptors)

• Formula processing layer (pluggable formula handlers)

• Master output factory layer (pluggable output factories)
