You must be connected to the internet for installation. Serial number validation checks the serial number entered with the NDS Xephr web service to retrieve the customer's information from the NDS Corporate database to generate the Xephr master record. Without an internet connection, this validation will not occur.
Print the installation instructions before beginning install.
Install.exe is downloaded to your C:\IA_Installers\xephr-2.2.0 directory.
Installed to your C:\ndsj2ee\xephr-2.2.0 directory by default, but this can be changed during installation.
Shutdown any previous installations of Xephr version 1.2.0, 1.2.1, or 2.1.0. Previous versions of Xephr cannot be running at the same time as the current version of Xephr.
In Microsoft Windows Installations, click on the Start button, select Settings, select Control Panel.
In the Control Panel, select Administrative Tools. Select Services.
Previous versions of Xephr are named NDSJ2EE 1.2, NDSJ2EE 1.2.1, or NDSJ2EE 2.1.0. If the status of the status of the service is Started, right click on it and select Stop.
Ensure that any installations of Xephr prior to 2.2.0 are configured to start manually only. Previous versions of Xephr cannot be running at the same time as the current version of Xephr. Since the current version of Xephr will be set up to start automatically, the previous versions must be set up to be started manually.
In Microsoft Windows Installations, click on the Start button, select Settings, select Control Panel.
In the Control Panel, select Administrative Tools. Select Services.
Previous versions of Xephr are named NDSJ2EE 1.2, NDSJ2EE 1.2.1, or NDSJ2EE 2.1.0. If the startup type for the service is Automatic, right click on it and select Properties.
In the Properties for the service, change the Startup type to Manual.
Uninstall any installed Xephr 2.2.0.
You do not need to uninstall any Xephr version 1.2, 1.2.1, or 2.1.0 installations.
In Microsoft Windows Installations, click on the Start button, select Settings, select Control Panel.
In the Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs.
Locate the program named xephr-2.2.0.
Click on it, and then select Change/Remove. Xephr 2.2 will be uninstalled.
Go here to download and install Xephr.
Follow the installation instructions below to install Xephr 2.2.
Once Xephr 2.2 has been installed, the Xephr Administration Console will be available to maintain the Xephr instance default information.
The installation log can be found at C:\ndsj2ee\xephr-2.2.0\xephr-2.2.0_InstallLog.log
The Xephr service is started after installation.

Click on the link provided on the installation page.
A security certificate will be displayed
for Zero G Software, Inc. Click Yes to accept the
certificate.
Zero G Software, Inc supplies the InstallAnywhere product used by NDS
Systems.
Click on the Start Installer button.
The installer will be launched.
Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
You can press Cancel at any time
during the installation process to terminate the installation.
Read the information provided. Press
the Next button to continue.
In the Where Would You Like to Install field, enter the directory path on the Xephr server for the directory in which Xephr will be installed. The default is C:\NDSJ2EE\Xephr-2.2.
Click on the Choose button to find the desired directory.
Click on the Restore Default Folder button to return the entry to C:\NDSJ2EE\Xephr-2.2.
Press the Next button to continue.
In the HTTP Port field, enter the port to which the server will respond for http requests. The default port is 80.
Press the Next button to continue.
Review the information provided.
If it is correct, press the Install button to continue.
If any is incorrect, press the Previous button to return to previous screens to correct the information.
The following message is displayed.
Select "Yes".
Xephr 2.2 will be installed. Wait
until installation is complete.
Installation is complete. Press Done to close the installer.
The administration console log in
screen is displayed.
Log in as admin/admin, which is the default log in for the Xephr Administration Console. It is strongly recommended that you change this user ID/Password during your Xephr set up.
You need set up the serial number
for the Xephr installation.
Click on Set/Change Xephr Serial
Number.
In the Serial Number field, enter
the Xephr serial number.
When you update the serial number, and click
on the Get License button, the serial number validation checks the serial
number entered with the NDS Licensing server to retrieve the customer's
information and generate the Xephr master record.
It is necessary to establish an http (web) connection with the NDS Licensing server or the validation will not occur and the Xephr installation will not operate. In some environments, it is necessary to use a proxy server to gain http (web) access. If your environment requires the use of a proxy server, complete the following steps.
Set the Use Proxy to Connect to NDS Licensing Server checkbox to on. Additional properties will be displayed.
In the Proxy Server pop-list, select the proxy server through which you are making this connection.
The pop-list contains all proxy servers used for previous connections. If the desired server is not present in the pop-list, enter the proxy server URL manually in the field.
In the Proxy Port field, enter the proxy server port through which you will make the connection.
When all entries have been made, click on the Get License button.
Click on Home on the left menu or
Xephr in the Location string to get back to the home screen.
