Xephr Interconnect Datasource

Datasources can be created to access published entities as datasources.  You can have multiple interconnect datasources, but each one must be unique by Xephr host/User ID.  

For Interconnect Datasources ONLY, certain properties may be read from the global variable space depending on datasource configuration. These properties are:

The above global variable names are required and cannot be changed or assigned by the user.  If either host name or proxy server is empty, the value will be read from the corresponding global variable; the same is true if proxy port is set to zero.  Use of SSL is specified by the datasource and cannot be overridden.

Creating Xephr Interconnect Datasources

  1. In the Explorer Tree, select the Datasource Information object.  

  1. There are options to creating a datasource at this point.

  1. The Create New Datasource screen will be displayed.

  2. In the Category pop-list, select Xephr Interconnect Datasource.

  3. In the Type pop-list, select Remote Xephr Entity.

  4. In the Name property, enter a name for this datasource.

  5. In the Description property, enter a description for this datasource.

  6. In the Host property, enter the host on which the interconnect entities were published.

  7. In the Port property, enter the port to use to access the published entities.

  8. If the host and port must be accessed using a secure connection, set the Is Secure flag to on.  When this flag is set to on, the datasource will connect using https:// protocol.

  9. In the Default User property, enter the user ID to access the published entities on this host.

  10. In the Default Password property, enter the password to access the published entities on this host.

  11. If it is necessary to use a proxy server to gain http (web) access for your environment, in the Proxy Server property, enter the proxy server URL through which you are making the connection.

  12. In the Proxy Port property, enter the proxy server port through which you will make the connection.

  13. Click on the Ok button to create the datasource.

  14. Click on the Save button in the main toolbar to save the new datasource.

Editing Xephr Interconnect Datasources

  1. To edit an existing datasource, expand the Datasource Information section of the Explorer Tree and left-click on the desired datasource.

  2. In the Name property, enter the name for the datasource.  This value was originally entered during datasource creation.

  3. In the Description property, enter the description for the datasource.  This value was originally entered during datasource creation.

  4. In the Interconnect Service Type property, Remote Xephr Entity is displayed and cannot be modified.

  5. In the Host Name property, the host name entered during datasource creation is displayed.  This is the Xephr host to which the entities were published.

  6. In the Port property, enter the port to use to access the published entities.  This value was originally entered during datasource creation.

  7. If the host and port must be accessed using a secure connection, set the Secure property to true.  When this flag is set to true, the datasource will connect using https:// protocol.

  8. In the Default User property, enter the user ID to access the published entities on this host.  This value was originally entered during datasource creation.

  9. In the Default Password property, enter the password to access the published entities on this host.  This value was originally entered during datasource creation.

  10. If it is necessary to use a proxy server to gain http (web) access for your environment, in the Proxy Server property, enter the proxy server URL through which you are making the connection.  This value was originally entered during datasource creation.

  11. In the Proxy Port field, enter the proxy server port through which you will make the connection.  This value was originally entered during datasource creation.

  12. In the Created on property, the date and time on which the datasource was created are displayed and cannot be changed.

  13. In the Modified on property, the date and time on which the datasource was last modified are displayed and cannot be changed.

  14. Press the Save button to save the changes to the datasource.
