Xephr Administration Console
Manage Logs

This screen allows you to read and manage the Xephr® logs.  

The Location property displays the current location within the administration console.

Links on this screen include:

Roll Rollable Logs Now: Click on this link to roll current logs into a backup log and start logging fresh.

Mail all logs to Support: Mail all logs to the support email entered for the host on which you are running the administration console.

Set Log Levels: Click on this link to set the debugging levels for each log type.

Reading Logs: Click on any log to read the contents.

Mailing Logs to Support

  1. When the Mail all logs to Support link is clicked, the Mail Log screen is opened.

  2. The Location property displays the current location within the administration console.

  3. In the upper field, enter the reason why you are sending the logs to support.  You should include as much information as possible to help in troubleshooting the issue, including how to reproduce the issue and any errors that you received.

  4. In the lower field, enter your contain information, in case support needs to contact you for additional information.

  5. Press the Mail Logs button.

  6. The email is sent to NDS Support.

Set Log Levels

When the Set Log Levels link is clicked, the Set Log Levels screen is displayed.

Logging Category: the Xephr category for which logging can be set.

Current Level: the current level of logging for this category.

Change To: pop-list controlling the level of logging for this category.

Note: For performance reasons, logging of individual SQL insert statements in execXML and Convert types is completely suppressed.

The Location property displays the current location within the administration console.

  1. For each Logging Category, set the Change To pop-list to the desired setting.
    Each setting will include the levels before it.  The pop-list is in the order of the lowest level of logging (OFF) to the highest level of logging (ALL).  The set level of logging will affect the performance of the Xephr system.

  1. When all categories have been set to the desired setting, press the Set Log Level button at the bottom of the list.

Reading Logs

To read a log, click on the link to the log.

The Location property displays the current location within the administration console.

To refresh the displayed log contents, click on the Refresh link

You can email the log you are reading by clicking on the Mail this log to Support link.

To jump to the bottom of the log, click on the Jump to Bottom link.

To jump to the top of the log, click on the Jump to Top link.
