New features added, version 7.5.2, 7.5.3, 8.1
Program CMSU, Mail Label Selector, is used to select customers, prospects, and/or contacts from the mail to records for any user-defined purpose, such as custom reporting, or creating a CSV file for mass mailings. This program affects the Selected flag, the Send Mass Mail flag, and the Send Catalog flag for the customers, prospects, and/or contacts.
The Catalog Ok flag determines whether a customer/prospect/contact will be considered for selection in this program.
All customers, prospects, mailing addresses, and contacts with the Catalog Ok flag set to on can be selected by program CMSU, Mail Label Selector.
Mailing address flag settings override customer/prospect/contact flag settings.
Customer/prospect settings override contact flag settings.
For example, if a customer/prospect has the Catalog Ok flag set to off, but the mailing address has the Catalog Ok flag set to on, the customer/prospect mailing address can be selected.
Contacts cannot be selected if the Catalog Ok flag is set to off at the customer/prospect level or the mail address level.
Only customers, prospects, and contacts for which a mail to record exists in program MTMM, Mail To/Prospect Input for Catalogs, will be included for selection.
Customers and prospects with mailing addresses but no contact records will also be selected by this program, as long as the Catalog Ok flag is set to on for the mailing address.
See the Default Settings and Set Up for program CMSU, Mail Label Selector section of program MURM, Initialization Parameter Maintenance, to set up default settings and define program behavior for this program.
Synchronization of Records for Customers/Prospects/Contacts/Mail Addresses
Creating Selections for Updating Flags
Exporting Selections to Export Table
Exporting Selections to CSV Files
This program is dependent upon synchronization with the Mass Mail flag, the Selected flag, and the Mail Class in the following programs:
When changes are made to records in these programs, or when new records are added, the updates are added to a separate table that is used to synchronize the settings when this program is run. This is to allow speedy performance in this program, as synchronization of the actual tables takes a long time. Not all changes are added to the synchronization table. Records are added to the synchronization table under the following conditions.
The CMSU_ACTIVE parameter in program MURM, Initialization Parameter Maintenance, is set to YES.
The CMSU_DAILY_EXPORT_LL parameter in program MURM, Initialization Parameter Maintenance, is set to YES for the sales location to which the master record is assigned. The LL in the parameter is the location code.
Synchronization is automatic when the following parameters are set in program MURM, Initialization Parameter Maintenance. Once automatic synchronization in performed, the synchronization table is cleared for new entries.
CMSU_AUTO_SYNC_MAIL: When set to YES, the settings for the Mass Mail flag will be updated to match the setting of the Mass Mail flag in the synchronization table when this program is opened.
CMSU_AUTO_SYNC_SEL: When set to YES, the settings for the Selected flag will be updated to match the setting of the Selected flag in the synchronization table when this program is opened. Synchronization of the Selected flag includes pulling in the Catalog ID and mail class from the synchronization table.
Manual synchronization can also be performed. You can update the master programs with the settings in this program, or you can update this program with the settings from the master programs.
Press the [Sync From Master] button in the header to update this program with the settings of the Mass Mail and Selected flags from the master programs.
