CMPC - Price Matrix Maintenance

New features added, version 7.5.3, 8.1

Program CMPC, Price Matrix Maintenance, is used to establish and maintain a price matrix that interfaces with sales order entry programs for automatic pricing.

The concept behind the price matrix is that a specific group of customers can be assigned the same prices and discounts for a specific group of inventory items. To accomplish this, customers are grouped into "customer price groups" and items are grouped into "item price group"; then prices and discounts are assigned to combinations of the two. In other words, if two customers belong to the same customer price group, they will get the same price for items in the same item price group. If a customer is a member of the specified price group, and buys a quantity that falls within the quantity range for that item, the specified price and discount will be displayed automatically during sales order entry, where it can be accepted or changed.

Individual items can also be linked to a customer price group, and individual customers can be linked to an item price group. In these cases, the matrix price will not be selected in sales order entry if the item is assigned to any item price group or if the customer is assigned to any customer price group.

Customer price groups are established in program CMPM, Customer Price Group Maintenance. Item price groups are established in program ICSM, Inventory Sales Data Maintenance. These groups must already exist before they can be included in the price matrix.

Program CMPC, Price Matrix Maintenance, can be used to enter manufacturing enterprise and store special prices normally entered in programs CMUP, Enterprise Special Price Maintenance, and CMSP, Store Special Price Maintenance.

The customer can be assigned to a default price group on the Attributes Tab in program CMMM, Customer Master Maintenance. The customer can also be assigned to different price groups for specific product lines or product codes on Pricing Tab. This will override the default price group during sales order entry with program OEOE, Sales Order Entry Maintenance.

The list price is used in conjunction with the discount percent for automatic pricing during sales order entry. The three separate fields indicate the period to which the prices apply. Current prices apply now, last prices are the previous prices, and next prices apply when you make them current. Next prices are made current with the second page of the program.

The margin percent is used in conjunction with the discount percent for automatic pricing during sales order entry. Margin percentages must be less than 100.

The discount percent is used in conjunction with the list price and margin percentage for automatic pricing during sales order entry. The three separate fields indicate the period to which the discounts apply. Current discounts apply now, last discounts are the previous discounts, and next discounts will apply when you make them current. Next prices are made current with the second page of this program.

It is not recommended that all three pricing methods (list price, margin percentage, and discount) be used on the same item for the same customer.

This program begins in Query mode.
