Groups

Located within the Explorer Tree, Xephr® Groups are used to categorize or sort entities within Xephr.  Sub-groups can be created within groups, allowing an unlimited number of categories with which to group your entities.

Creating Groups

  1. In the Explorer Tree, select the group under which you wish to create a new group.  

  1. There are options in creating a group at this point.

  1. The group will be assigned a generated name and displayed in green on the Explorer Tree. The Property Sheet will be displayed with for the new group.  Group properties will either be displayed in Alphabetical or Logically, depending on the setting of the [Sort Alphabetically/Logically] button.  The following instructions are assuming that the properties are sorted logically.

  2. In the Name field, enter the desired name for the new group.

  3. In the Description field, enter the description for the new group.

  4. Press the [Save] button in the Main Toolbar to save the new group.

Editing Existing Groups

  1. Expand the Group Information section of the Explorer Tree.

  2. Left-click on the desired group.

  3. Display the Property Sheet for the group.  Group properties will either be displayed in Alphabetical or Logically, depending on the setting of the [Sort Alphabetically/Logically] button.  The following instructions are assuming that the properties are sorted logically.

  4. In the Name field, enter the desired group name.

  5. In the Description field, enter the desired description.

  6. The Created on property displays the date and time on which this group was created and cannot be changed.

  7. The Modified on property displays the date and time on which this group was last changed, and cannot be modified.

  8. Press the [Save] button in the Main Toolbar to save the changes to the group.
