Program SPHM, WCO Harmonized Code Maintenance, is used to enter and maintain world class organization harmonized codes assigned to items in program ICMM, Inventory Master Maintenance.
Some shipping applications, such as the Clippership Interface and Connectship / WorldEase Interface, require that harmonized codes be valid or they will not function correctly. Entries in this program can be used to validate the harmonized codes entered in program ICMM, Inventory Master Maintenance, when the VALIDATE_WCO_HS_CODE in program MURM, Initialization Parameter Maintenance, is set to YES.
The program can be populated initially by downloading an ASCII-delimited file from http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/schedules/b/index.html#download. Then, use program UTCV, Delimited File Manager, to load the entries into the wco_harmonized_code table. No short descriptions are available in the download, but can be defaulted to a portion of the long description in the file. There are sections in the beginning and ending of the file which need to be removed with an editor prior to importing. A copy of the file is included in your NDS Home Directory, in the csv folder, named spdel.csv.
