New features added, version 7.5.2
Program OSCM, Staged Order Container Maintenance, is used to assign inventory from a staged order to a container. This is an optional program. You can containerize all or part of a staged order, and once containerized, the quantity staged cannot be changed.
The length, width, and height in the program are measured in inches and are optional. Gross weight is also optional.
You can view order tracking information in this program.
1. Enter an employee number. You can use the list of values to select the desired employee number. Crew ID's can also be entered in this field.
2. The pack date defaults to the system date, but it can be changed.
3. In the middle block, query a staged order. The date, manufacturing enterprise, plant code, and customer number are entered automatically.
4. Go to the lower block.
5. Define the container.
The container number will be entered when the record is committed.
Enter a container ID.
If the auto numbering feature for container label is set up in program SPAN, Auto Number Control, and you do not enter a container ID, the program will assign one when the record is committed.
If your have a tracking number from the vendor carrier that is assigned to the ship via code for this order, such as UPS or Federal Express, this is where you would enter the tracking number.
When containers are queried in program OEST, Container Status Inquiry, you can view the tracking information from the vendor's web site for the container.
This feature is currently only available for Federal Express and UPS. The vendor code for these companies must be assigned to the appropriate ship via codes in program SPSF, Ship Via Code Maintenance.
Enter the container type from program ICCT, Container Type Maintenance, for this container.
Enter the empty weight.
Enter the gross weight.
Enter the length, width, and height, if desired.
Enter the stock area from which the order is being containerized. This will default to the stock area in which the order was staged.
Enter the bin location within the stock area from which the order is being containerized.
6. Press [Commit]. The container ID and container number will be assigned.
7. Press the [Contents] button. Any existing contents will be displayed.
In the Line No field, use the list of values to select the line item that you are containerizing,
Enter the quantity of this item that you are putting in this container. The default is the quantity ordered.
An order can be split between containers. After the item is entered into one container, the List of Values will display the quantity that has not been assigned to a container when you are entering in the remainder of the order in other containers.
Entering the gross weight, length, width, and height is optional.
Enter a label ID. If you do not enter a label ID, and the auto numbering feature for ship label is set up in program SPAN, Auto Number Control, the program will assign a label when the record is committed.
7. Press [Commit].
8. The container information will be written to the staging record in program OSEM, Stage Sales Order for Shipping.
Press to enter the container contents. Upon entering the container contents screen, the program will bring up any existing contents for the container. To access the staged line items for the order, use the list of values. An order for an item can be split between containers, and the list of values will split the order as well.
