New features added, version 7.5.4, 8.4
Routings can be assigned to model items in two places. Routings cannot be entered for model items using program RTMM, Routing Master Maintenance.
* Routings can be assigned to a model when the model is set up in program MOTM, Modular Bill Maintenance.
* Routings can be assigned to a model when the model is configured in program MOCF, Modular Bill Configuration, if the Use Configurable Routings flag is set to on in program MOPM, Modular Parameter Maintenance.
The routing is printed as part of the shop paper each time a manufacturing order is released.
The routing serves three major functions within the system:
1. It provides standardized instructions for shop printouts.
2. It provides time standards for the calculation of work center loads and capacity planning.
3. It includes time, labor, and overhead cost elements for the calculation of standard product costs.
Routings can be entered for specific component items assigned to the model item. These component items can exist at any level below the parent model item.
Entry of routings during configuration with program MOCF, Modular Bill Configuration, is dependent upon certain parameters set up in program MOPM, Modular Parameter Maintenance.
* You can only enter routings during configuration if the User Configurable Routings flag is set to on in program MOPM, Modular Parameter Maintenance.
* Routings can be entered in two formats in program MOCF, Modular Bill Configuration, dependent upon the setting of the “Should Routings be maintained in Simplified or Full display” pop-list in program MOPM, Modular Parameter Maintenance.
Simplified Routing allows you to enter a routing in a simplified format in program MOCF, Modular Bill Configuration. The simplified version is specifically designed for routings on model items that will be converted from the sales order to a project using program PMSM, Convert Order/Quote to Project. The information requested on the simplified routing is only the information required for the conversion to a project line.
Full Routing allows you to enter a routing in full detail in program MOCF, Modular Bill Configuration. You can enter full routings for model items that will be converted from a sales order to a project. Only some of the information that is entered on a full routing is required for the conversion to project line. The entry screen for full routings is the same as the routing entry screen in program MOTM, Modular Bill Maintenance.
Routings entered in program MOCF, Modular Bill Configuration, for a model item can be entered for any model item in the configuration. For example, if the parent model item has several model component items, routings can be entered for the model component items as well. When you are entering the routing operation, in the Parent Model No, enter the model number to which the routing operation belongs.
When a component model item is added to a model parent item in program MOCF, Modular Bill Configuration, if the component model item has a routing, the routing will be added to the configuration.
Outside service operations can be set up so that when the work order is automatically released, the requisition will be created and released, and the purchase order will be opened automatically. Some set up is necessary.
* In program MOPM, Modular Parameter Maintenance, the Use Configurable Routings flag must be set to on.
* In program SPMM, System Parameters/Default Maintenance, the Auto Purchasing Requisitions from Work Orders Active flag must be set to on.
* In program POPM, PO / Receiving Parameter Maintenance, the Include Modular Lines flag must be set to on.
* In program MURM, Initialization Parameter Maintenance, the AUTO_RELEASE_MODULAR_WO parameter must be set to Y.
Additional setup must be completed for the outside service item.
* A vendor must be assigned to the outside service item in program ICPM, Inventory Planning Data Maintenance, or when the routing is entered in program MOTM, Modular Bill Maintenance, or program MOCF, Modular Bill Configuration.
* A buyer must be assigned to the outside service item in program ICPM, Inventory Planning Data Maintenance.
When unit cost is calculated for the model, the standard routing cost for the model will be included in the calculation. This is written to the Other Details screen for the sales order line.
