Program IPAM, Allowed Item Type Code Maintenance, is used to define items that a specific customer can order in the sales order entry programs:
Item codes are entered in this program and items are attached to the code. Items cannot be assigned to more than one item type code.
Customers are then attached to the item code. Depending on the setting of the Include flag, the customer can order only items attached to the item code, or they can not order items attached to the item code, but can order other items.
Item type codes cannot be deleted once they have been entered.
Item type codes can also be assigned to items in program ICMM, Inventory Master Maintenance, or to customers in program CMMM, Customer Master Maintenance.
Restricting Customer / Item Purchases
1. Enter the code.
2. Enter the code description.
3. Press the [Items] button to attach items to the code.
4. Items attached to the code will be displayed automatically.
5. To attach new items, set the pop-list to All Items.
6. Set the Attached flag to on for all items that you wish to assign to this item type code. Set the Attached flag to off for all items that you do not wish to have assigned to this item type code.
Items cannot belong to more than one item type code.
7. Press [Return] when all desired items have been attached.
8. Press the [Customers] button to attach customers to the item type code.
9. Customer assigned to the item type code will be displayed automatically.
10. To attach a customer, set the pop-list to All Customers to view all customers. You can also use the list of values to select the customers.
11. Set the Attached flag to on to assign the customer to this item type code. Set the Attached flag to off for customers that you do not wish to have assigned to this item type code.
12. If you wish the customer to be allowed to order only items assigned to this item type code, set the Include flag to on.
In sales order entry programs, when an item that is not assigned to this item type code is entered on a sales order line for this customer, a warning will be displayed stating that the customer can not order the item. If the Warning Only flag is set to off for the customer, you will not be able to enter the line item.
13. If you wish the customer to not be allowed to order items assigned to this item type code, set the Include flag to off.
In sales order entry programs, when an item that is assigned to this item type code is entered on a sales order line for this customer, a warning will be displayed stating that the customer can not order the item. If the Warning Only flag is set to off for the customer, you will not be able to enter the line item.
14. Customers not assigned to an item type code will be allowed to order any item in the system.
15. When you have completed entering the customers, press the [Return] button.
