New features added, version 7.5.2, 7.5.4, 8.4
Program ILMM, Location Master Maintenance, is used to enter and maintain stocking location master records within a plant and manufacturing enterprise. These records are used in programs throughout the system. Location records that are currently in use cannot be deleted.
Specific locations within a plant are defined in two sections. Areas are sections of the plant or warehouse, and bin locations are specific locations within the area.
Locations that currently contain inventory in the system cannot be deleted.
Locations can be defined with a variety of functions.
The Nettable flag indicates whether material requirements planning can consider the inventory in the location for planning purposes.
The Floorstock flag indicates whether items can be backflushed from the location.
The Staging flag indicates whether sales orders can be staged at the location.
The OE Ship flag indicates whether sales orders can be shipped from the location.
The control # flag indicates whether the location is a controlled location. Shipping and staging locations should have this flag set to on as controlled items must be staged and shipped with a control number.
The Customer Owned flag designates the location as a customer owned location, in which customer owned inventory is stored. For more information, see the Storing Customer Owned Inventory section.
The Consigned flag designates that the location contains inventory that is consigned to a customer. This flag is used in re-order point calculations with program IMRC, Re-Order Point Calculation Management.
The Quarantine flag designates the location as a quarantine location.
1. In the Mfg Ent field, enter the manufacturing enterprise code in which the stock location exists.
2. In the Pl field, enter the plant code in which the stock location exists.
3. In the Stock Area field, enter the stock area code for the stock location.
4. In the Bin Loc field, enter the bin location code for the bin location.
5. In the Description field, enter the description for this stock location.
6. In the Preferred SKU field, enter the unit of measure in which the quantities in the stock location will be calculated and displayed.
When a unit of measure is entered here, the quantities in the location will be calculated in the unit of measure entered here whenever possible.
Location preferred SKU's will override the preferred SKU entered for the item in program ICEM, Item Plant Maintenance.
7. In the Loc Group Code field, enter the location group code for this location, if appropriate.
Location group codes are user-defined. They are used by the system to restrict billing transaction collection for fulfillment bin location billing.
8. If material requirements planning (MRP) can consider the inventory at the location for planning purposes, set the Nettable flag to on.
The Include Non Nettable in available to promise flag in program SPMM, System Parameters/Default Maintenance, determines whether quantities in non-nettable locations are included in available to promise calculations.
When this flag and the OE Ship flag are set to off for a location, you cannot stage from that location in program OSEM, Stage Sales Order for Shipping.
Non-nettable locations cannot be picked from with program MRPE, Work Order Pick List Entry.
It is strongly recommended that users do not make the staging and shipping locations non-nettable. Non nettable locations are meant to be used to quarantine inventory so that it will not be considered for planning/reservation purposes.
If your staging/shipping locations are non-nettable, and the Include Non Nettable in available to promise flag is set to off in program SPMM, System Parameters/Default Maintenance, when you stage the quantity to that location, the quantity moved will not be added back into the available to promise. Since the sales allocations are not decremented until the sales order is shipped, it will appear to make the available to promise less than it actually is.
9. If the backflush of material is allowed at the location, set the Floorstock flag to on.
10. If sales orders can be staged at the location, set the Staging flag to on.
It is strongly recommended that users do not make the staging and shipping locations non-nettable. Non nettable locations are meant to be used to quarantine inventory so that it will not be considered for planning/reservation purposes.

11. If sales order can be shipped from the location, set the OE Ship flag to on. Ordered quantities cannot be picked from locations that do not have the OE Ship flag set to on.
It is strongly recommended that users do not make the staging and shipping locations non-nettable. Non nettable locations are meant to be used to quarantine inventory so that it will not be considered for planning/reservation purposes.

12. If this is a controlled location, set the Control # flag to on.
For optional control items, when the item is moved from a controlled location to a non-controlled location, the control numbers assigned to the items are unassigned, and the item becomes a non-controlled item. When the item is moved from a non-controlled location to a controlled location, a control number is assigned to the item according to the parameters entered in program ICEM, Item/Plant Maintenance. Optional control items have the Optional Control flag in program ICEM, Item/Plant Maintenance, set to on.
Controlled items that are not defined as optional control cannot be stocked in non-controlled locations. Non-control items can be stocked in both non-controlled and controlled locations.
Controlled items must have a control number to be picked for sales order and work orders, regardless of the optional control flag in program ICEM, Item/Plant Maintenance.
Locations defined as shipping and/or staging locations should also be defined as controlled locations as controlled items cannot be shipped or staged from non-controlled locations, regardless of the optional control flag in program ICEM, Item/Plant Maintenance.
13. If the location is used to store customer owned inventory, set the Customer Owned flag to on.
For more information, see the Storing Customer Owned Inventory section.
14. If the location is consigned to a customer, set the Consigned flag to on.
The Consigned flag designates that the location contains inventory that is consigned to a customer. This flag is used in re-order point calculations with program IMRC, Re-Order Point Calculation Management.
15. If the location is a quarantine location, set the Quarantine flag to on.
Only the Customer Owned flag and/or the Control # flag can be set to on for a location when the quarantine flag is set to on. All other flags must be set to off.
If any item is using the quarantined location as its backflush or default location in program ICEM, Item/Plant Maintenance, this flag cannot be set to on.
When this flag is set to on for a location containing inventory, all inventory quantities in the location are added to the Open Quarantine Adj tab in program RTVM, Return to Vendor Maintenance, to be added to return to vendor maintenance records.
When this flag is set to off for a location, all inventory quantities are removed from the Open Quarantine Adj tab in program RTVM, Return to Vendor Maintenance.
Locations with negative quantities cannot have the Quarantine flag set to on.
There must be a 'Q' reason code set up in program RERM, Reject/Scrap Reason Code Maintenance, for the system to use when the flag is maintained for a location with inventory.
