Program ICEC, Engineering Change Level Maintenance, is used to change engineering change level (ECL) codes for inventory items once they have been established with program ICMM, Inventory Master Maintenance. The engineering change level (ECL) is the revision level indicating the number of times the bill of material has been modified.
If the Quality Control Approval of Bills of Material Required flag is set to on in program SPMM, System Parameters/Default Maintenance, then only Quality Control users can use this program.
Quality Control users have the QC Approver flag set to on in program SPUM, System Authorization Maintenance.
Using the [Update Component ECLs in Bills] button after changing the engineering change level (ECL) in program ICMM, Inventory Master Maintenance, will do the same thing as program ICEC, Engineering Change Level Maintenance.
1. Query the item for which you wish to change the engineering change level (ECL).
2. In the Current ECL field, enter the new current engineering change level for the item.
3. Press [Commit]. The program will update all bills of material where this item is a component.
