New features added, version 7.5.2
Program CMCI, Customer Contract Inquiry, is used to display price contracts and blanket contracts for customers by running program CMCP, Customer Contract Maintenance, in query only mode.
* A price contract establishes the price for a specific inventory item, when sold to a specific customer. Contracts are entered into the system with program CMCP, Customer Contract Maintenance, and can be shared among multiple customers.
* During sales order entry, the system checks for the existence of a valid contract price for the customer and item, price matrix, enterprise or store special price, and base list price in the inventory master.
* The lowest of these prices is then displayed as the default unit price for the order. However, firm contract prices override other prices, even if the contract price is higher.
* If the contract is marked as still being active (the Active flag is set to on), the customer is given the contract price for subsequent purchases even after the contracted quantity has been shipped.
* A sales order blanket contract is used to create forecasts, sales orders, and production schedules for a specific item and customer.
* Once a sales order blanket contract has been created, production and sales orders can be created from the contract in program CMRO, Customer Contract Release.
Program CMCP, Customer Contract Maintenance, allows you to create multiple contracts for the same item for a customer under the assumption that the effectivity dates of these contracts do not overlap. If an order is placed for an item for which more than one contract is effective, the system selects the first contract price on file (which is not necessarily the first alphanumerically) and ignores all others. The program includes information for quantity breaks, releases, and forecasts for each item.
Multiple customers can share a single contract, but once a contract has been shared, it can not be released with program CMRO, Customer Contract Release. The contract price will still be used in order entry for all customers who share the contract.
For more information on the fields displayed in this program, see program CMCP, Customer Contract Maintenance.
