Additional Small Changes to Help You Succeed
This is the second installment in our three part series of small changes we've made to smooth out your processes
and make it easier for you to run your company. See which of these changes can help you succeed!
Manufacturing:
- Do manufacturing receipts for a plant always go to a single stock area and bin location? When setting up plants in program ILPM, Plant Code Maintenance, a default manufacturing receiving location can be defined for a plant. When default location is defined for the plant, that location is used as the default for all items received in that plant from manufacturing, simplifying your manufacturing item setup.
- Need to see a summary of the component items needed for a top level parent item? In program BMMA, Multi –Level Material
Availability Check, we've added a Summarize checkbox to the header. When querying the parent item, check the
checkbox and the full component list for the parent item will be displayed. Component items are summarized into one line
to allow users to determine the total component requirement and availability when component exists in multiple levels in
the bill of material.
- Need to see bills of material that have a specific item as either a standard component or an alternate component, or both? With the new 'Search For' pop –list in program BMWI, Single –Level Where –Used Inquiry, you've got that ability.
- Need more detailed information about your scrap history? Many scrap history inquiry programs have been updated to
include the operation sequence and scrap source. Program SCIQ, Scrap History Inquiry by Item, and program SCPQ,
Scrap History Inquiry by Production Line, have been updated to include a Reference field that contains the location for an
inventory scrap, the work order and operation sequence for a work order scrap, and the schedule item and date for a production
schedule scrap.
- Added the Print Shop Paper checkbox to program WOEM, Work Order Entry/Maintenance.

The NDS Office will be closed July 3rd, 2009 in celebration of Independence Day

Inventory:
- Do you use kits? Do you need to know how many kits you can make from the components?
In program ICSS, Stock Status Inquiry, the new Kit Availability tab displays the components for
a kit, their stock availability, and how many total kits can be built from the components in stock.
Workflows:
- When creating a manual workflow, if you wish to send the workflow to multiple employees, you
can enter multiple employee numbers in the Send To field on workflow drill down pop –up,
separated by a comma. For example, entering 1,72,35 would send an email for the workflow to
employee 1, employee 72, and employee 35.
