Financial Management
NDS Financials include the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliation,
Accounting for Commitments and Fixed Asset applications. The Financials applications are fully integrated with each
other and other NDS applications, but can be used separately.
General Ledger
The General Ledger is a complete multi-company and multi-currency system. The General Ledger includes an
extremely flexible chart of accounts and accounting calendar, giving enterprises the freedom to expand successful
business practices. This structure provides the financial manager with a flexible accounting system for tracking the
business. Implemented in its simplest form, this module is a streamlined, quick and effective financial management
system offering flexible accounting and budgeting tools. In its full capacity, the general ledger will satisfy an
international company with multiple consolidations, account level forecasting and flex budgeting. The General Ledger
has many built in formulas for analyzing the financial health of the company. Controllers may extend these by
changing the way that they work or by adding new calculations which better suit them.
Accounts Payable
Accounts Payable provides for the entry, maintenance and tracking of vendors in the purchasing application.
Accounts Payable helps management analyze discounts, monitor vendor performance, and track a company's cash
requirements. All transactions are held on an open item basis and may be inquired upon at any time. Integrated with
the General Ledger's multiple organization account structure, Accounts Payable can be managed across multiple
organizations and banks, each with separate General Ledger posting accounts for accounts payable, cash, and
discounts.
Accounts Receivable
Accounts Receivable allows for the entry, maintenance and tracking of customer invoices and payment transactions.
On-line access to customer credit and account aging information provides immediate controls for management.
Problem accounts can be quickly and clearly identified, enabling a company to effectively focus its collection efforts,
and proactively manage cash flow. Invoicing is driven by shipments to customers or one-step invoicing may be used.
In the one-step process, the order entry and shipping steps are avoided and the sale and shipment recorded in one
entry. In both cases, the ordering process takes into account customer specific pricing and discounts, and feeds
those into the invoicing process. Flexibility is built in with adjustment capabilities, customer deposit processing,
on-account cash receipts and multi-bank cash receipts. Cash entries have automatic application and write off
capability, as well as application of on account cash entered previously.
Bank Reconciliation
Bank Reconciliation provides the ability to reconcile your bank statement with the checks and deposits entered in the
application. During reconciliation, deposit and payment information is retrieved from Accounts Payable and Accounts
Receivable and compared to the actual general ledger account balance for your bank account. For transactions such
as bank fees that are not entered in the application, user defined transaction records can be set up for consideration
in the reconciliation and subsequent posting to the general ledger.
Accounting for Commitments
Payment commitments to vendors are entered into the general ledger with this interface. Commitments are
automatically generated and posted to the general ledger through out the purchasing, receiving, and payment
process. Commitments are closed automatically when the voucher generated for the purchase order is paid, or they
can be closed manually at any time.
Fixed Asset Management
Tracking assets is a concern of every company, regardless of size. Many organizations face the challenge of tracking
the location, quantity, condition, maintenance, and deprecation of their fixed assets and having this information on
hand can save you thousands of dollars. The NDS Applications Fixed Asset Module includes the features that you
need to easily handle your fixed assets.

collection. The tools provided allow for the easy management of everything necessary to track marketing campaign
costs and generate revenue.
Lead and Prospect Management
Lead and Prospect management is a powerful marketing campaign management tool that shortens the sales cycle,
increases sales productivity and measures the effectiveness of marketing programs. As a result, it increases success
of marketing programs that generate higher quality leads. Lead management is designed to make marketing efforts
more effective and measure their performance from lead inception thru the life of the customer. Compare number of
leads generated and number of leads closed; compare cost of marketing programs to the revenues generated;
conduct R.O.I. analysis; analyze individual campaigns or compare effectiveness of several campaigns
simultaneously. Lead management provides you the tool for making effective decisions and to consistently achieve
your sales target. Whether you want to work with leads from trade shows, inbound calls, purchased lists, web sites,
e-mails, seminars, or bingo cards, leads are entered automatically or can be easily imported into the system. Lead
management automatically tracks the source of leads to provide you with the information necessary to make effective
decisions, and to allocate marketing resources in the right direction. Thus increasing effectiveness of your marketing
dollars and increasing R.O.I.
Sales Force Automation (CRM)
Sales force in our distribution software provides the sales people the ability to view contacts and activities, generate
quotations to establish forecasts and store all communications with accounts and contacts while management is able
to view and build reports on business opportunities. Sales force centralizes your company's sales prospect database
for better control, security and communication for your sales organization. Your sales force will streamline the
qualification process by capturing the detailed prospect profiles. Product interest, budget amount, purchase time
frame, competitive landscape, decision makers, decision process, features sought, can all be recorded for use by
direct sales force. Prospect status codes provide tracking capability to establish funnel forecasting.

Sales Order Management
The Sales Order Management includes Sales Quotations, Sales Orders and a dynamic Product Configurator. Quotes
can be entered for either a prospect or a customer. Analysis of quotes that are won, lost or abandoned is provided to
easily track close rates.
Sales Quotations
Sales Order Quotations are entered in much the same way as sales orders are. One click turns a quote into a sales
order; no re-keying of data is required. Sales quotes can also be entered for prospects. The quotation automatically
updates the forecast opportunities in the NDS sales force automation. The same great features that are available in
sales order entries are available here.
Sales Order
Sales Orders encompasses the complete spectrum of customer order management. From customer credit to
contract pricing, and from order entry to shipping confirmation, the use of this module is a significant step towards a
complete distribution control system. Pricing schemes can be applied to match the various pricing strategies and
algorithms required in a wide variety of markets. The provision for structuring customer-buying groups enables the
tracking of sales history through deep distribution channels. The customer credit management features are fully integrated with order entry and shipping confirmation to enforce various levels of credit hold. Order limits and credit
limits may be applied by customer or buying group. Sales commissions and royalties may be calculated for multiple
sales reps per order, and may be based on product or total volumes of sales.
Product Configurator
Modular items entered with the modular bill manager can be configured during sales order entry. After configuration,
an assembly work order may be created or purchase order written. Configured items generate a unique bill of
material and routing for use in the NDS Manufacturing modules. When the work order has been completed, the item
can be shipped.

Inventory Management
NDS Inventory includes the Inventory Management, Lot & Serial Control, Physical Inventory, and Cycle Counting
applications. Detailed transaction history is maintained for each item, along with automatic summary data for each
fiscal period.
Inventory Management
Inventory Management is the core of the manufacturing and distribution components of the system. It is fully
integrated with the other applications, meaning that any transaction which touches inventory creates on-line updates
on the inventory master and stock status records.
Inventory Management provides the complete tracking of sales and usage history, as well as on-screen-perpetual
history reporting of all transactions tracking. Lot/Serial includes The maintenance of item master data is divided into
separate areas providing flexibility in its creation and access. It has been carefully structured so that engineering,
sales, planning and costing data may be separately controlled.
Lot & Serial Control
This includes full lot and serial control with cradle to grave tracking. Automatic lot/serial number can be generated by
several algorithms. Inventory items and locations may be designated as optionally controlled so that serial number
tracking can be deferred to the point of use, so that bulk inventory can be aggregated. Expiration dates can be
tracked, along with an unlimited number of user-defined lot attributes. Lot costs may be actual cost by lot with
deferred cost assignment.
Physical Inventory
Physical Inventory allows the user to perform a traditional 'close the plant and do the count' full physical count of
stores and in process inventory. Comprehensive reporting on missing tags, and valuation differences help to insure
an accurate count.
Cycle Counting
The Cycle count process includes a powerful ABC analysis tool with more than 20 different calculations. The use of
inventory worksheets or tags is supported. Cycle counts can be generated based on item groupings, bin location
groups or ranges, ABC classification, due date and many other criteria. Deviation reports by quantity or value provide
quick analysis of count accuracy.

Supplier Management
Supplier Management provides the tools necessary to manage and analyze supplier relationships. Automatic upload
of supplier pricing, supplier pricing and performance analysis, quality inspection with automatic returns to suppliers
and maintenance of preferred suppliers are included.
Pricing Upload
Data from suppliers can be uploaded automatically from virtually any type of data file. Data mapping by supplier
allows one program to handle multiple file layouts. New inventory items can be automatically added to the inventory
master, significantly reducing the time required for adding new suppliers or new products from current suppliers.
3 Way Matching
Tolerance levels can be established by supplier or by supplier and item. These tolerance levels establish acceptable
variance percentages for quantity received vs. quantity ordered. Tolerance variance levels are also enforced during
Accounts Payable voucher entry for line item and total purchase order value.
Supplier Returns
During the receipt of suppler shipments, an inspection process can be utilized. Items that are rejected are
automatically scheduled for return to the supplier. The return process allows for the generation of pick tickets and
packing slips. Freight charges and restocking fees are built into this module.
For a more detailed Supplier features list, go to: http://www.ndsapps.com/supplier_management.htm
Purchasing Management
The Purchasing application provides controls for the complete procurement process, from vendor quoting through
receiving, inspection, material disposition, and material vendor returns. Vendor quotes are collected against items
with multiple vendor price comparisons used by the system to recommend vendor selection for each purchase order.
Requisitions can be generated automatically from M.R.P. or can be entered by users. Once approved, requisitions
can be automatically converted to P.O. lines. The receiving process includes an optional inspection procedure
defined by item. An item may be received directly to a line stocking location, to a specific job, or simply to its primary
stocking location. In addition, the purchasing application works together with the work order management application
to control the procurement and scheduling of outside services.
Supplier Quote Management
Price quotes can be maintained for each item provided by the supplier. Quantity price breaks, including discounts
from list price are supported. Items can be purchased in multiple units or measure. Inquiries and reports are available
to compare pricing for items purchased from multiple suppliers. Analysis can be performed based on current supplier
or by sales of items by vendor. On-time delivery analysis and expediting of purchase orders are standard features.
Purchase Requisitions
Requisitions can be manually entered or generated automatically be the NDS planning programs. The requisition
approval process insures that no requisitions can be converted to a purchase order with proper authorizations. Drop
ship and purchase-to-order items can have purchase orders created automatically from the sales order or can be
grouped for review and processing by a centralized purchasing agent.
Purchase Order Receiving
Purchase orders can be received directly into warehouse bin locations, or can be received into a central receiving
location for distribution at a later time. Quality inspections can be preformed for any receipt. Inventory items can be
designated for automatic inspection upon receipt. Cross-docking is fully supported. Each receipt of a purchase order
is recorded on it's own receiver, allowing for detailed analysis of supplier performance.

Engineering Specifications
NDS Engineering includes the Manufacturing Quotations, Product Costing, Product Structure Process, Routings and
Work Center, Engineering Specifications, and Tool Tracking Applications. The Engineering Specifications is used to establish instructions and essential information for the use of the tools, operations, routings, work centers, items, and
customers. It can also be used to store information that is needed by other packages in a company, such as data
collection programs. Engineering specifications that have been assigned to routings, operations, work centers, and
tools through engineering templates, can be printed on the shop paper or work order.
Manufacturing Quotations
The Manufacturing Quotations provides a quick and simple way to develop quotations for multilevel items. Items, bills
and routings can be created on the fly or copied from the standard system. Costs can be retained from the standard
system or readily maintained and rolled up by quote. Once the basic quote is developed, commissions, labor rates,
various burdens (overhead) and markup can be manipulated on-screen, and the effect on the selling price will be
seen immediately. Alternatively the selling price can be changed, and the new markup is displayed. A quick and easy
way to develop costs for quotations in a 'sand box' without impacting the live data.
Product Costing
Product Costing administers the calculation of material, labor, outside service and fixed and variable overhead costs
for inventory items. This application calculates incremental costs, using item master and routing records, then rolls up
component costs into routing step costs (if required) and parent costs using the bills of material. By using multiple
cost types, the system permits multiple cost roll-ups to occur without disrupting the results of prior roll-ups.
Product Structure Process
Bill of Materials application is used for the entry and maintenance of manufacturing bill of material. The system
supports unlimited levels of bills of material, with indented explosion and implosion (where used) listings and
inquiries. Component effectively and change control significantly contribute to a company's ability to control and
protect its product structure integrity. The bills of material are used in cost development, M.R.P. and M.P.S.
explosions and work order release for the issue and back flush of material.
Routing and Work Centers
Routings & Work Centers provides for the entry and maintenance of routing and work center master records. A
routing provides a process definition and details the manufacturing instructions to the operators. Whether the
operation type is regular, batch, unattended, indirect or outside service, the system helps to define the appropriate
routing information and track the associated labor, machine and tooling requirements. Each routing step defines
standard labor/machine times, including setup time, run or processing time, indirect time, inspection time, machine
time and a user-defined time element. With each standard time, there is a standard labor rate. For each step, the
tooling requirements are also defined. Routings can be defined as user predefined standard operations, or as unique operations. If standard operations are used, they may be customized for each routing. Network routings enable the
user to define the operation dependencies and manufacturing sequence so that work orders and repetitive schedule
entries created from network routings are automatically scheduled through their critical paths. Flattening of B.O.M's
does not extend the scheduled manufacturing time. The work center master defines locations where routings
operations occur, and the overhead codes associated with those locations. For efficiency and utilization calculations,
the standard shifts and other factors are also defined here. Production line definitions help both the scheduling
process and material consumption.
Engineering Specifications
Engineering Specifications are used to establish instructions and essential information for the use of the tools,
operations, routings, work centers, items, and customers. The module can also be used to store information that is
needed by other packages in a company, such as data collection programs. Engineering specifications that have
been assigned to routings, operations, work centers, and tools through engineering templates, can be printed on the
shop paper or work order.
Tool Tracking
Tool Tracking allows the users to define tools, dies and jigs to the system and specifies the routing steps where the
tools are used. The system then automatically tracks the usage of each tool and reports the status to the user as
required.

Forecasting, MPS & MRP Planning
NDS Planning includes the Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Statistical
Forecasting, Proxy Item Planning, and Reorder Point Applications.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Material Requirements Planning allows users to shape their material planning process to fit their business. In addition
to applying industry standard MRP logic, it provides user definable time periods and retains the planning data in both
bucketless and bucketed forms. The lag time between scheduled receipt and inventory availability is user defined.
The MRP operates in the simulation mode with an authorization step. After regeneration of the MRP and
management approval, the new plan may be released to the system in the form of planned orders and changes, or if
determined to be unacceptable; the MRP can be regenerated without affecting the production system. MRP can be
calculated for a single plant or a group of plants. Managing material plans is simplified by the way in which data is viewed in the system. For example, an inquiry can be made which displays the complete plan for a part, including
planned and released orders, projected available inventory and pegged requirements; or a simple inquiry which
displays messages only. As planned orders are authorized, the capacity plan is automatically maintained. As well as
the usual bucketed inquiries and reports, all of the calculation and pegging detail is available from the MRP results.
Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
Master Production Schedule has multi-warehouse / plant capability and is designed to set production schedules in
just-in-time, make-to- order, make-to-stock and repetitive environments. MPS is designed to accept forecast data
from a variety of sources and the MPS may be presented in units or currency. The MPS is bucketless with a
user-defined series of reporting periods for easy reference. The master scheduler establishes three planning time
fences: the planning horizon, the firm planning time fence and the demand time fence (when MPS is frozen). The
planner can maintain planning exception messages and priority and filter levels for each message. A wide range of
planning characteristics can be established at the item and plan level to define the planning rules. As planned orders
are authorized, the capacity plan is automatically maintained. The MPS includes features such as statistical
forecasting, independent forecast, rounding mechanism definition, variable period size and abnormal demand masks.
Statistical Forecasting
Forecasting uses sales data to calculate forecasts of future activity according to rules set up for each item. It provides
seasonality, item grouping, user defined alpha smoothing and safety factors. The forecast calculation results are
merged by the application with any manually entered forecasts prior to being processed by MPS or Reorder Point.
Proxy Item Planning
The Material Proxy Planning is used in environments where a variety of similar materials can be used to create a
parent item. Planners determine which components will be used to create a parent item by each item's specifications
rather than the parent item's bill of material, parts lists, drawings, etc. The planner creates a short term relationship
between a set of materials and parent items according to the specifications required by the parent item and those
provided by the materials. The decision as to which material will be used on a work order is deferred until the work
order is released.
Reorder Point
The Reorder point application provides for retail and distribution center replenishment. It performs reorder point calculations and generates orders automatically. Sales forecasts can be included in the reorder point calculations. This
module provides for a quick look at either a single item or items that currently have demand. In addition, it may be
used in conjunction with the work order release application to generate replenishment orders from MPS and MRP
planned supply orders.
For a more detailed Planning features list, go to: http://www.ndsapps.com/planning.htm
Manufacturing Management
NDS Manufacturing includes the Repetitive/Just-in-Time Production Scheduling, Work Order Management, Capacity
Planning, Production Tracking, Costing, Scrap, Labor Reporting, and Make to Order Kits Applications.
Repetitive / Just-in-Time Production Scheduling
Repetitive and Just-In-Time Production Scheduling and Reporting is designed to provide a simpler method of
planning, scheduling and reporting manufacturing activity than that offered by the work order management module.
Daily production schedules may be prepared in advance of production and reported against, or production may
simply be reported as it occurs with no supporting schedule. The same database of items, lot numbers and on hand
quantities, bills, routings and tools etc. is used in the repetitive and work order applications and consumption of
material and labor data is written to the same historical data repositories (perpetual inventory, perpetual labor, tool
usage history, manufacturing - G/L interface, etc.). There is no "hidden work order" number to identify production
runs; this is done by end item and lot number or date. A spreadsheet like interface can be used to set schedules in a
simple and familiar way.
Work Order Management
The Work Order Management application is the core of a complete shop floor control system. Once an order is
launched through either manual or auto-release procedures, the application provides a host of mechanisms for
controlling work order related material, labor, tooling and service costs. The system allows standards to be
maintained by order. This is accomplished by creating a released bill and permitting adjustments in material, labor,
service and tooling requirements, without effecting other jobs or standard bills of material and routings. In finished
goods receipts, material may be directed from the work order into inventory or directly into another work order. The
Work Order Management allows the user to accumulate manufacturing costs in as much detail as needed.
Capacity Management
Capacity Planning operates continuously within the database without any user intervention required. The plan exists
simultaneously as actual capacity requirements as defined by released work orders and authorized repetitive
production and also as planned work orders and planned repetitive production. As planned production is scheduled
and in turn completed, the capacity plan is automatically updated to reflect the current status. The impact of changes
in the manufacturing schedule at any level can be seen reflected immediately in the capacity requirements. Examine
capacity requirements by department, work center, production line, work order, manufacturing schedule, etc.
Production Tracking
The Production Tracking application enables a company to report all of its production activity to the shop floor control
system. Labor activity, material activity, and management reporting are addressed by Production Tracking, which can
be applied to capture work order costs, process or work group efficiency, and production performance reporting. Information
collected through this application is used by MRP to keep planning priorities in order and by the work order
management application to supply up-to-the-minute information to the production scheduler. Production transactions
for labor, material and tools may be generated automatically at standard cost, or collected as actuals or as a combination
of both, as required. Manual collection can be turned on for specific areas during a shop tuning process and
then turned off again and automatic collection resumed. Labor Reporting provides for the capture of all types of labor
used in production: direct, indirect setup, inspection, rework, downtime, machine, tool and more. The job routing
defines operations and time required to complete a job. When operations are completed, Labor Reporting is able to
report worker and work center efficiency, machine utilization and downtime. W.I.P. Material Moves provides for complete
operation-to-operation material tracking. It may be operated in fully automatic mode, or queues can be
managed manually or the option may be turned off. W.I.P. Tracking provides various inquiries and reports on work-inprocess.
Manufacturing Costing
Manufacturing Costing tracks actual labor and material costs as they are applied to work orders. Cost
adjustments and cost transfers between work orders can be made, as needed, to insure proper postings to the
General Ledger. The costing information can be printed on costing reports.
Scrap Material
Scrap Material is used to enter scrap records into the system. Scrap records can be entered into the system in two
ways, automatically and manually. Once the scrap records have been entered and committed, they are stored as
scrap history.
Labor Reporting
Consisting of labor processing programs and reports, the labor reporting module is used to enter labor transactions
as they are reported from the shop floor. These transactions supply data for various applications, such as
manufacturing costing and production scheduling. Labor can be reported by crew or individual employee. In addition
to manual reporting, operations can be set up to back flush the labor based on the settings in the item's routing.
Start/Stop labor entry is provided for real-time data collection on the shop floor. Labor entry writes to the standard
labor tables and can be accessed through the standard labor programs. Crew entries are exploded into their member
employees for application to the cost of production, so that the rate for each employee can be used for cost
calculations. Scrap reporting takes place as part of labor reporting or can be reported separately.
Make to Order Kits
Make to order kits allow for a pre-determined group of items to be sold as a single item number. The kit is assembled
during the order picking process. No manufacturing order is necessary to ship a kit. Make to order kits can be sold as
either the sum of the components pricing or for a fixed price per kit.
For a more detailed Manufacturing features list, go to: http://www.ndsapps.com/manufacturing_management.htm
Warehouse Management
Warehouse Management is embedded in the core functionality of the NDS ERP application. As a result, there is no
duplication of processes or transactions across multiple systems. Accurate, real-time inventory and associated
processes together with the timely reporting of transaction activity enable warehouse staff to avoid wasting time
looking for material, and promote confidence in sales staff that the stock availability numbers are reliable. Buyers are
assured that they can plan to fine margins and avoid carrying just-in-case inventories. Knowing where everything is,
and knowing what needs to be done provides a warehouse environment which encourages efficient and lean
distribution operations that deliver timeliness and accuracy to satisfied customers -- and delivers lower distribution
costs to the bottom line.
Distribution Replenishment
The Distribution Replenishment application provides for retail and distribution center replenishment. It performs
reorder point calculations and generates orders automatically, or orders may be entered manually. In addition, it may
be used in conjunction with the work order release application to generate replenishment orders from MPS and MRP
planned supply orders. Distribution Replenishment provides order / pick / pack / receive tracking, with various
automatic print options for the transfer documents. Reorder point processing for distribution centers and retail stores.
For a more detailed Warehouse features list, go to: http://www.ndsapps.com/warehouse_mgmt_summary.htm
Service Warranty
The service warranty records problems with and service on warrantied items. It is integrated with the accounts
payable, accounts receivable, sales order processing, work order management, and inventory management. This
integration allows vouchers, invoices, work orders, and sales orders to be generated and returned items to be
returned to inventory under certain circumstances.

Additional System Features
System Common Features include the Menu System, Drill Down, Auditing, Renumbering, Support Requests/Problem
Reporting, Setup Wizard, User Utilities and many more applications. Productivity is the key to staying competitive in
the marketplace. Because productivity tools are fully integrated with the NDS ERP Solution, it's quick and easy to
perform special tasks, saving time and increasing the efficiency of your operations. In addition, NDS is continually
building and adding new tools and features to help you keep that competitive edge. Listed below are just a few of our
tools that complement and enhance our already robust applications, assisting in all aspects of your business
functions and ultimately saving your company valuable time.
User Maintainable Menu System:
Because different users need quick access to different functions, NDS was created to be menu-assisted not
menu-driven. With the NDS Menu System, individual user menus can be created, assigned, and displayed by user
login. The expandable/collapsible tree-style design facilitates navigation, and menus consist of metadata, which
means that custom modifications and additions are controlled by the data and not the programming.
User Definable Drill Down:
Ever want to view more information, but that information isn't contained in the current program? With NDS
Applications, the Drill Down feature allows you to access and run other programs from within the current program.
The data displayed on the current screen is carried forward to the target screen or report and used as the basis for
automatic query and display. A user can drill down through as many programs as they like. Drill down definitions can
be extended indefinitely by system administrators or end users with no programming at all, making it easy to access
as much information and as specific information as any user needs.
Auditing:
Need to keep close track of your data and the changes made to it? Audit trails can be set up to track any table or
column that exists in the system, including custom tables and columns. The system is shipped with a number of audit
trails already set up for critical tables, but these trails can be easily modified to suit your needs.
Key Field Renumbering:
Change is inevitable, and NDS makes it easy to update your data when it happens. Key information, such as item
numbers, vendor numbers, customer numbers, code values and many others can be changed in the system to a new
value using a single program. With a few keystrokes and the click of a button, the program scans the entire database
and changes all occurrences from the old value to the new value. It couldn't be easier.
User Utilities:
Your system administrators and programmers need access to more information than a standard user in order to get
their job done. NDS Applications includes utility programs and reports to assist programmers and system
administrators with troubleshooting, debugging, and gathering information to customize the system. The system
comes complete with cross references, where used data and other schema and program analysis tools.
File and Image Sharing:
An image is worth a thousand words, and with our file and image sharing features, users can get a clearer idea of
what they need to know. Files and images can be linked to records in the application and viewed later. You can
scan and/or store purchase orders, contracts, checks, drawings, specifications, photographs, conversations, emails,
etc. Anything you need to see.
Import/Export:
They say that you can't take it with you, but with NDS Applications, you can! Data from any table or view can be
exported to csv files for use in external applications, such as Excel. With the NDS Xephr software, you can expand
your capabilities to the web by exporting reports in HTML, XML, Excel or PDF form, and reading and writing
standards based web services. Need to import data? You can! Data can be imported using csv files, allowing bulk
inserts of important information, although there are some limitations of the tables that allow imports to protect the
integrity of your data.
Anytime, Anywhere Web Access:
Got an emergency call while you're on vacation? Need to get that report, but you're at home? With access any time
through an internet connection and a browser, you and your employees can manage the business virtually anywhere.
Workflows:
Having problems passing along important information to those who need it? NDS Workflows center on the idea of an
event, in which a document or piece of information needs to be communicated to a particular person at a particular
time or in a particular situation. These situations are configurable to be specific to your needs. In addition, workflows
can also be created manually and on demand by an employee, making it easy for your employees to communicate
important information to each other.
Email and Fax Capabilities:
Going green? Want to save money on paper and postage? With the NDS ERP Solution, supplier and customer
related documents, such as purchase orders, quotes, order acknowledgements, invoices and statements can be emailed or faxed directly within the NDS application. These can be sent individually or by a batch process. Internal
workflows can be setup to send emails along with the internal notification or email only. The fax feature must be
integrated with a third-party fax software product.
EDI External Interface:
Do you interface with an external computer system? Do you need to transfer electronic documents from that
computer system to your internal system? Using the programs in the External Interface Module, the NDS ERP
solution can interface with external programs, sending messages (outbound processing) such as an order
confirmation through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or receiving messages (inbound processing) such as a sales
order through EDI. Once these transactions are available in the External Interface programs, the necessary
information can be transferred to NDS standard programs. The External Interface functionality supports the flat-file
structures required for EDI transactions and is designed with the flexibility to accommodate many different types of
data transfers.
(Since EDI can be transmitted using any methodology agreed to by the sender and recipient, NDS considers each
EDI transaction to be a custom fitted project.)
Dashboards:
Transform your data into interactive and compelling charts, graphs and reports. Customize your own
dashboards or use preconfigured ones. See your key business functions at a glance, in real time. Real
Time dashboards show data from all you departments, so you and your employees can spend more
time analyzing and acting on data rather than gathering it. (Available with the NDS Xephr software.)
Customizable Reporting:
Because each company is different, in addition to the standard reports, NDS allows you to customize your own
reports. In order to address all the needs of your users, we offer basic to advanced report writing training. (Available
with the NDS Xephr software.)
API
Using standard protocols such as XML, web services provide a way to discreetly package business applications by
using API's (application programming interfaces) and make them accessible via the Internet to external databases
and other applications. Web Services lend themselves to the automation of inter-company transactions and solve
back-end integration problems.
Bar Coding/RF Capabilities:
We understand the importance of knowing where your products are and where they've been in the supply chain at all
times. Our software incorporates Symbol scanning devices to accurately inventory, track, and trace a product
throughout its lifecycle, automatically capturing critical transaction data on the manufacturing floor. This solution
provides the ability to "scan" and "shoot" incoming raw materials and to track outgoing finished products.
User Security:
Concern about security has never been greater, and with NDS ERP Solutions, protecting sensitive user information
has never been easier. In NDS Applications, security can be set up by user and user group, allowing strict control
over the modules, applications, programs, and data to which each user or group of users has access. By enabling
the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance Features, users' passwords have a limited life and are required to be 'strong'.
Help Documentation:
NDS Online Help is a resource provided by NDS Systems to assist users in running the programs present in NDS
ERP Solution. Accessing the NDS Online Help is as simple as pressing the yellow question mark
button located
on the NDS toolbar, NDS Menu, and NDS log-in screen. It contains 8000 pages of documentation and help, from
program overviews to job streams to field by field definitions.
